Headline on the Drudge Report currently:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi have sent a letter to President Bush saying 'surging forces' in Iraq is a failed strategy and calling for phased redeployment instead... DEVELOPING...

Uh … yeah. One question: How can it be a failed strategy, when it hasn’t even been tried yet?! Am I missing something here? Is their partisan hatred for Bush actively destroying their brain cells?

Granted, it may actually become a failed strategy. I have no illusions that this is the cure-all for what ails us in Iraq. I hope it works. There is a logic behind the attempt, as long as our leadership implements other strategies in tandem, like actually shutting down the borders between Iraq/Iran and Iraq/Syria, and putting a strangle-hold on al Sadr. But to claim it is a failed strategy before it is even attempted is shear idiocy.

But, what else would you expect from Reid and Pelosi?
